Over the past three years, the team here at MacKenzie Healthcare Technologies (MHT) has developed the world’s first fully automated repositioning system for people in wheelchairs, Paraglide. Paraglide’s award-winning, patented design has been recognized as a game-changing innovation at regional, national and international competitions.
With the development of Paraglide nearing completion, our team is ramping up to develop our next innovative product, and we’re looking for the right candidate to help us take it from concept to commercialization.

As a Jr. Engineer/Technologist you will work side by side with our Sr. Engineering Designer and will be responsible for:
New product design
Complete drawing packages, including assemblies
Mechanical/Electrical integration design
Carrying out design calculations and ensuring that plans respect guidelines, codes and other regulations
Establishing and maintaining contact with clients to determine needs and to present technical information, concepts and study results
Producing monthly reports
The design and construction of testing equipment and fixtures
Assisting the project manager and Sr. Engineering Designer as needed
Carrying out all other related tasks to assist in the completion of the project
Qualifications
Mechanical Engineer/Technologist Diploma or equivalent
Detail oriented
Able to work as part of a team
Excellent spoken and written communication skills
Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel within Nova Scotia
